Our Packing Peanuts are an excellent source to add aeration to the bottom of your pots where the roots really need it.  Adding a small layer of Packing Peanuts to the bottom when re-potting will help prevent sediment from turning into a muddy mush that will clog your pots drainage holes and choking or rotting your plants roots. 

Our Packing Peanuts do not breakdown in water like those made of corn meal, etc.  Those type that breakdown defeat the purpose they are intended for in aerating the roots and turn into a mushy material that will mix with the sediment and clog your drainage holes.
